2 Corinthians 12:9
New King James Version (NKJV)
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
This is a Spirit filled outreach where a group of ministry members goes out to wherever the need is greatest and spreads The word of God! When financially able we meet the physical needs as well. Some examples of what we provide are water, scarves, gloves, hats, deodorant, food etc. However we strongly believe that Jesus is the only thing we have to offer that can bring true peace, joy, and love!
Words cannot express the things to which we bare witness. The smile that spreads across a persons face when we tell them “Jesus loves you”, hand them some water, and pray for them. The hope that enters the hearts of those who hear our testimony of how Jesus saved us from our trials and heart aches. The inspiration given to those who witness us striving to do God’s work. It is truly is a blessing to both the giver and the receiver.
Here are the two main verses that drive us to continually reach out to the less fortunate of our great city!
Luke 4:18-19 (NKJV)
“ The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”
Matthew 25:37-40 (NKJV)
“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
